Meet the team

Scientific Advisors

Dr. Els van der Helm founded Shleep after a decade of experience in sleep research. She advises and coaches business leaders on how to improve performance, health and engagement through sleep management.

Her research at UC Berkeley, Harvard Medical School and NL Institute for Neuroscience resulted in multiple peer-reviewed articles, journals and several book chapters. Her publications have been featured by Harvard Business Review, McKinsey Quarterly, Huffington Post, Inc.

For over 2.5 years she worked as a management consultant at McKinsey where her passion for both leadership and sleep management made her develop and facilitate training programs for both McKinsey consultants and clients.

Dr. van der Helm holds a PhD in Psychology from UC Berkeley and two MSc degrees from the University of Amsterdam and the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
